| Welcome to the Law Office of Richard A. Macias Please call me Rick. I am an attorney in adoption and family law in Wichita, Kansas. Since 1987 I have helped with joyful adoptions for families all over Kansas, the United States and in fact, around the world. Kansas is a very adoption friendly state and allows adoptive parents from other states and countries. I think this comes from the love all Kansans have for children. Kansas has approved an open adoption policy and all consents are final at the time of execution. Most Kansas adoptions are finalized in 30--60 days and final does mean final in Kansas. Look around for some good information about adoption and the Law. The most important idea I can give you is to retain an experienced attorney in adoption. As a Birth Parent or an Adoptive Parent, do not hire just any attorney. This is one area of life--an adoption--that you really need to have an experienced, practical and professional lawyer working for you and your baby. Helping Birth Moms Bringing a beautiful child into a beautiful future is a gift beyond hope. I also know, that sometimes the only way to give this gift is by making a difficult decision.
